Description
Rifle Marksmanship I, Fundamentals is a prerequisite for Rifle Marksmanship II, anyone who has not completed the Rifle Marksmanship I, Fundamentals class will be automatically disenrolled from this class.
The morning will be spent in classroom training. There will be a one hour break for lunch. We will move on to a 100 yard range, then to the 200-500 meter steel range to finish out the day. Expect a day of 6-8 hours, the exact time will depend on the needs of the participants. You must provide your own rifle, ammo and equipment as there are none available for loan or rent. This class is limited to five (5) people.
Rules and equipment required;
- All firearms must be cased for transport to and from the classroom or range.
- No ammunition or magazines in the classroom.
- Empty Chamber Indicators must be used whenever you are not actively firing, one will be supplied as part of the class.
- Listen to and abide by all range commands.
- Any rifle caliber, long range (500yard and further) capable rifle is allowed. No pistol length barrels, red dots or pistol calibers may be used.
- The round count required for this class will depend on each individual, some will need to shoot more than others to correct issues and become more familiar with their equipment.
Required equipment;
- Eye and ear protection
- Water
- Scoped rifle.
- At least 100 rounds of matching ammo of the correct caliber for your rifle (match grade ammo is recommended, but not required). The better quality ammo you use, the better your results will be.
- Tools and owner’s manuals specific to your scope/rifle.
- Bipod, front bag or front rest for your rifle.
- Rear shooting bag
- Shooting mat
- Cleaning kit for your rifle
Recommended equipment;
- Blank DOPE sheets, 3×5 note cards or a small spiral notebook will work as well.
- Pencil with eraser
- Ballistic app, there are good ones available for free to download
- If you do not have an adjustable cheek riser it is recommended to bring a washcloth and flexible cohesive bandage 3”x5yd.
- Hat
- Snacks
- No armor piercing, green tip, tracer, incendiary or other “specialty” rounds allowed.
